University of Bath, a UK research-intensive university is the coordinator of the EXTREME project. The group of Prof Meo is part of the Materials Research Centre (MRC) at the Mechanical Engineering Department. MRC has been involved in internationally acknowledged activities in the development of NDT/NDE techniques, advanced modelling of damage initiation and progression failure in aerospace structures, and wave propagation.
The University of Bath team will be involved in impact detection, damage imaging and material characterisation for aircraft structures in addition to the management of EXTREME project
The University of Bath is a public university located in Bath, Somerset, United Kingdom. It received its Royal Charter in 1966 and can trace its roots to a technical school established in Bristol in 1856
The University of Bath will work on defect manufacturing within WP2, and the development of NEWS based imaging techniques based on the time reversal and tomography within WP6. They also have minor involvement in validation (WP7) and dissemination related activities within WP8.
SPH code is used for the several projects within defence sector, including Lockheed Martin, AWE, Raytheon, DSTL and offshore sector (BP).11th March 2020
